I’ve been in marketing for over 12 years, taking an intentional leap into tech in 2011 when I worked for a home shopping network (the world of 24/7 retail is a wild ride!). Starting out on a 3-month contract, I worked my way through the Digital team where I landed in Project Management. Being part of the bridge between consumers and digital experiences was energizing to me, and I knew I was in the right place!
From there, I transitioned into agile development, gaining experience as a Scrum Master on an app development team. Surrounded by seasoned developers, I learned the ins and outs of software development and technical product management.
I joined Hero in 2019, combining my years of retail, marketing, and technical experience to manage one of the company’s largest accounts. My hands-on approach across multiple industries has served me well here, preparing me to wear many hats and navigate technical complexities. Moving into a Program Manager role has given me the opportunity to take my skills to the next level and empower a team along the way!
Mottos I live by are “haste makes waste” and “be relentless in all you do.”
Outside of my career, I am passionate about the outdoors and am an avid hiker and backpacker. I also dedicate time and energy to community activism and am part of two organizations with emphasis on racial and social justice and community healing.
Throughout my career, I’ve overcome many roadblocks and naysayers. My hope is to encourage other women to claim their space in tech—to show that our unique experiences can change the game and that we belong here.
